Job Description: SENSR is seeking skilled professionals in environmental sensor data processing and supervision to join our team as Regional Coordinators on a contract basis. The Regional Coordinators will be responsible for overseeing the transcription of audio recordings and image sets according to standardized protocols. This role involves processing a subset of audio recordings or image sets, from various projects and clients, ensuring accurate transcription within designated timelines, while supervising and encouraging a team of expert bioacoustic and image tagging contractors. The workload will be assigned based on project availability, with a maximum commitment of 40 hours per month or 100 hours for the contract term.
Number of Positions: 4 (East {Ontario, Québec, Maritimes}, North {Nunavut, Northwest Territories, Yukon}, Central {Saskatchewan, Manitoba}, West {British Columbia, Alberta})
Duration: January 15 – March 31, 2025
Rate: $35.65 / hour
Responsibilities:
- Supervise teams of bioacoustic and/or image tagging contractors within assigned regions.
- Manage various aspects of data intake and project execution within the WildTrax system. Ensure tasks and projects are aligned with client protocols and contractual agreements.
- Maintain adherence to quality standards and guidelines. Conduct regular quality control assessments to uphold high standards of data accuracy and integrity.
- Coordinate with contractors and other Regional Coordinators to ensure seamless workflow and timely delivery of projects while meeting client expectations.
- Process bioacoustic and image data using the WildTrax platform.
- Collaborate closely with the SENSR Managers on deadlines and expectations throughout the contracting period.
Requirements:
- Degree in Biological, Ecological or Environmental Sciences
- Strong leadership qualities
- Excellent proficiency in bioacoustic audio transcription especially birds and amphibians; bats and image data processing is an asset
- Ability to follow standardized protocols effectively
- Strong communication skills, attention to detail and accuracy, organized
- Flexibility to accommodate workload fluctuations
